I use EF 70-200/2.8L IS II with my R5, and I would not move to RF f/4 or even 2.8, because I can accept the huge weight the EF lens, and also it's so good that I don't care for RF anyway. I shoot quite often at 200/2.8 for compression and background separation, so no f/4 for me (althrough it's not as big difference, but I already minmax it so
I'm new here, and playing with two lenses, the Canon RF 70-200 F4 vs the same in F2.8. I have here 4 pictures. Two are with the f4, two are with the f2.8. Same ISO (800) and same shutter speed (1/250) - one of each lens at 70mm and 200mm. I wanted to see what the difference really was and as you can see, it's dramatic.
RF 70-200 F4 EF 70-200 F4 EF 70-200 F2.8 Version II used EF 70-200 F2.8 Version III used (if I find a good deal) Would be using this lens primarily for sports, but also a good take-a-long for hiking. My encounters with low light have been limiting w the EFS 55-250 f4-5.6, which is why I listed the 2.8 versions.
Canon describes the RF 70-200mm f2.8 lens as super compact, and it really is so much smaller than the equivalent Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens (27% shorter and 28% lighter, to be precise).

Mount and Compatibility. The 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM is made for Canon’s RF-mount and attaches to mirrorless R-series cameras. At the time of writing, there are five of these on the market: the EOS R, EOS RP, EOS Ra, EOS R5, and EOS R6. This lens will not work on EOS DSLRs, such as the 5D and 1D series, or any other mirrorless system.
I have Sony 70-200 F4. But, don't know how the Tamron 70-180 F2.8 perform. There is saying, the camera and lens are tools. It's how you use the tools. So, I rented the Sony 70-200 F4 for my hiking/surfing photography. I loved it and bought one. Yeah, it does have terrible min focus distance and it doesn't bother me. Cause I knew how to use my
The Canon RF 1.4x or 2.0x teleconverters are not compatible with the RF 70-200mm F4L lens, or indeed the F2.8 version. They are currently only compatible with the RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM (can only be used within 300-500mm range), the RF 600mm f/11 IS STM and the RF 800mm f/11 IS STM lenses. Focal Range
At $2600, the Nikon Z 70-200mm f/2.8 S is hardly a cheap lens, though its competitors are similarly expensive. The Sony EF 70-200mm f/2.8 costs $2600 and the Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8 costs $2700, though the Nikon F-mount 70-200mm f/2.8E VR is a bit less at $2350. Build Quality. The Nikon Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S is built with a mix of plastic and
